Description

Utah Disaster Kleenup's LAYTON office is hiring part time (on-call) flood technicians to respond to emergency evening and weekend disaster cleanup projects.
 
How it works:
Each month, part-time Disaster Kleenup technicians calendar 4-10 days to be on-call for evening and weekend cleanup projects.They have the flexibility of requesting specific days that work best with their schedule.    

How they are paid:
This position is an after hours and weekend position.   Part Time on-call technicians are paid an hourly ($12/hour) rate only when they are called out to do work.   We have no way of predicting when disasters happen, but on average, on-call techs are called out 70% of the time.   In addition to the hourly rate, a bonus of $20-$50 is added to each on-call occurrence.  

Typical on-call scenario: 
Joe is scheduled to be on-call Monday night from 5pm - 8am Tuesday morning.   At 10:30 pm, an emergency flood is called in.  Joe immediately departs his residence to drive directly to the UDK facility in Draper where he will meet up with a lead technician.   Joe and the lead technician clock in at 11:00 pm and works until 1:30 pm.  On their way back to the facility, another emergency call comes in.  They restock the service vehicle and report to the next loss where they work until 3:30 am.   Joe and the lead tech clock out when they return to the facility at 4:00 am.   Joe will be compensated for 5 hours of work plus (2) on-call bonuses of $20/each.   Total of $100

Bonuses:
Monday-Thursday $20/per standard cleanup - $30/per CAT-3 (sewer) cleanup
Friday - Sunday $40/per standard cleanup -  $50/per CAT-3 (sewer) cleanup
All Holidays $40/per standard cleanup -  $50/per CAT-3 (sewer) cleanup

 
Requirements:
- Perfect fit for an energetic person who enjoys a constantly changing work environment.
- Requires superb customer service skills and compassion for customers undergoing disastrous property losses.
- Responsible for operating a truck mount, extracting water, moving furniture and general labor tasks.
- Must have a valid drivers license and a clear motor vehicle record.
- This is a dirty job and requires someone that is not be afraid of getting dirty.  
- Responding to on-calls is mandatory and we have a zero tolerance for no-shows. 
 
Other requirements:
- Lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to respond to on-calls 24/7 when you are scheduled.  This includes arranging your own transportation to and from our facility in Draper.
- Fill our various forms and documentation
- Speak English effectively enough to communicate with English speaking customers.
- Bi-lingual individuals a plus
- We are a tobacco free organization.  Use of tobacco products are prohibited on job sites and company property.
